Visiting Suzuki Europe in Bensheim
Originally I planed to go to Berlin, Prague in Czech Republic after Hannover. But I decided to change my route completely.

Because I had missed one screw to fix rear sprocket, I ordered and asked Suzuki to deliver it to Berlin. But, while I am in Berlin, It may not arrive in time. And I do not know where I can receive it next if not in Berlin. In addition, it is said that driving in Czech and Austria, winter tires are required now.

It costs too much if I have to change to winter tires and if I may not to receive the ordered part in Berlin,
Why not change the plan to pick it up? I decided to go to Bensheim, where the service center of Suzuki Motorcycle is located and from here, service parts are shipped to all of the Europe.

I had expected that it could be done in a minute, because the only I need was just one screw. But on my arrival,
I was really welcomed by Suzuki Service team. They knew that I was traveling by motorcycle around the world and had been interested in it.They offered overall maintenance of my motorcycle in addition to screw! Wow, it is really helpful. I can not appreciate their supports more. How it looks like does not change at all, but I feel as if I am wearing a new underwear!

I was recommended to visit Heidelberg for the famose castle. This is said a very popular tourist site and not so far from Bensheim. It was already late after noon and made it difficult for me to go far that day. I decided to stay in Heidelberg one night.

To my surprise, there are beautiful Christmas markets as well as the castle in Heidelberg. I have not heard it before in Japan but realize that Christmas market is a great attraction worth to visit in winter. Of course, I really enjoyed it.

Long ride to Hannover
It has been long time since I had a long ride last time. I drove about 550km from Stuttgart to Hannover. I did not really think I did a good job of riding, rather, I was surprised that I did not see anybody riding a motorcycle on the road at all. Then, I learned that no one would ride motorcycle at this time in Germany. Simply, it is too cold.

The temperature was probably around 5 degree celsius. However, it was raining and, because of driving on German highway, windy. These conditions made me feel even freezing. It may be my second coldest experience after the one in Peru, when I was crossing the Andes under rain as well.

At that time, I thought it was too dangerous to keep driving and decided to take a shelter from the heavy rain in the small shop on the road. A girl in the shop was so kind to give me a T-shirt for change. Not only a dry T-shirt, but also did her kindness make me happy.

This time, my motorcycle is equipped with wind protections on the handle bar. In addition, I wear 3 gloves. But it was still so freezing that my fingers feel dead. Foots also. I wore 3 pairs of socks and a boots. But it was cold enough to feel my fingers are dead as well. In summary, It was extremely cold on that day to drive.

I wanted to arrive in Hannover because I had a promise to meet my friend, Isabel, whom I met in Medellin, Colombia. We met through Couchsurfing more than a year ago and she hosted me for a week. I can not appreciate more Isabel and Lia, her mom.

Especially Lia. She asked me to speak Spanish when I was talking to Isabel in English, because she said, she also wanted to join the conversations. But I know what she really wanted to do was to teach me Spanish, because it would help my journey more fun and easier if I could speak better. So, she patiently listened to my poor Spanish and correct it and sometimes teach me new vocabularies. It was really unforgettable experiences in Medellin to me. Lia is like my mom in Colombia. Since then, Isabel moved to Hannover and invited me to stop by when I come close to Hannover. Wow, it sounds great!

I managed to arrive in Hannover after riding in the rain and knock the door. After a few seconds, Isabel opened the door and her face showed something unexpected and surprise after seeing me. And she told me, is not it tomorrow that you come? Really?? Oh, that means did not I need to ride in this rain? I maybe misunderstand the date, because I rescheduled couple of times. But she still welcomed me. Thank you, Isabel.

I stayed for 2 nights. While I was there, I had a chance to talk to Lia in Colombia and make Japanese style curry rice. I did notexplore the city but still enjoyed myself. I am confirmed that meeting friends is the best! Thanks again, Isabel and Lia!

To be Porsche or To be Mercedes.
To be Porsche or To be Mercedes, that is the question.

Stuttgart is a city where the head quarters of Porsche and Mercedes are located. These great car makers also open their museums here. Obviously, I am poor enough not to buy these excellent cars. Only thing I can is to visit museums. But, my budget forces me to choose either of them for visiting.

My decision was made to visit Porsche museum. Why? It looks for more younger people, don't you think? Well, you do not need to tell everything, I know I am not young anymore......

Porsche 959 Paris Dakar Rally version I want this, somebody buys me this! If not possible, a radio car is even fine!
IMG_7791.jpg

The reason I came here is not for cars, actually. I am a motorcyclist, you know.

In this city, does live my friend, Ekki, whom I met on Stahlratte. Stahlartte is the sail boat known to motorcyclists traveling between North and South Americas. Because, this boat carries motorcycleys between Panama and Colombia, where there is no roads connected.

Last October, I met 14 motorcyclists in Panama when waiting for this boat. Ekki is one of them. We all become good friends during sailing to Cartagena and meeting good friends again is the best part of trip!

I can not appreciate Ekki more.

Because I am so idiot to do even regular maintenance for motorcycle, Ekki replaced front and rear sprockets and chain for me, not helped me to replace. He did it all for me. I am sorry I should not be proud of this. Thanks so much, Ekki.

He also took me to a dinner of cheese fond. I did not know just cheese and bread are so tasty. It is great experience.Next time, we see each other in Tokyo, let me treat you!

Here reunion again, Darmstadt
I am staying at the fraternity in Darmstadt, which is close to Frankfurt.

Why do I stay at the fraternity? Because I have a friend, Jasmin, who traveled Nicaragua together with me one year ago and she used to live here and got me a room.

This fraternity, which is not popular In Japan, gives a lot of merits to students.

Firstly, a rent is not so expensive. You are supposed to pay after you start working. It is really helpful that students do not spend much on rent.

Secondly, there are a lot of people who lived here before and you have chances to meet them. You may have advices for everything from them and also able to build social network.

And, it is always fun to have someone in the fraternity whom you hang out together with.

Thanks to Jasmin, I was attended to a swing dance class. This is my 5th dance lessons, after Country dance in Houston, Salsa in Cuba, Tango in Argentine, and flamenco in Madrid. The lessens was really fun but it is shame that I was not good at any of them. Well, never mind because I was able to enjoy drinking after dance.Thank you, Jasmin for great time!

Facebookの力、The power of Facebook
Brussels is known for this!

IMG_7550.jpg

This is the statue of little man piss. You will find him anywhere in the city.

IMG_7560.jpg

IMG_7562.jpg

Do you know he has a friend in the city? There is the version of girl. Hardly believable, but it is true.

You see it, right?

IMG_7573.jpg

I could not believe in this, because this is regarded as taboo in Japan. I can imagine that after the statue of little man piss got popularity, someone may start this, though.

It is guarded by the iron bars. I had to take many shots to avoid these iron bars, which made me feel as if I would be taking sneak shots.

Uploading the photo on Facebook leads me to another reunion.

I found one of ex colleagues also uploaded the same photo! He just visited Brussels to watch the football game between Japan and Belgium.

After leaving London, I am couchsurfing in Zomergem, Belgium.

My host is Danny and Annie. Danny is the one who loves motorcycle and, with his motorcycle friends, we organized a drinking one night. It is always great to meet other motorcyclists, because their adventures are inspiring and also give me a lot tips for traveling. Thanks, guys!

Crossing Dover Straits to London!
Taking a ferry from Calais to Dover, I finally came to London!

There are a lot of ferries between Calais and Dover a day, you do not probably need to wait so long to get one, but it seems cheaper if you book a ferry in advance. I got a ticket on the following site and it costs only 9 pounds. Isn't it cheap?

But to get this ticket, I have to stay at one night at the ferry terminal to get early departure.

A main purpose of visiting London is to meet my friends, Harry, Ben and Gemma

We all met at the hostel in Cusco Peru on Xmas last year. Harry and Ben were also riding motorcycles, just like me.The hostel in Cusco was typical party hostel and organized parties everyday. But the party at the xmas day was super awesome. Thanks to the hostel, we became good friends.

After Cusco, I met Harry at Montevideo, Uruguay and Ben at Barcelona, Spain.

So, we had a dinner together to celebrate the reunion. It is always the most exciting thing to meet friends again, I think. It is really my pleasure to meet you guys!

In addition to the reunion from Cusco, I also had a nice meeting and another reunion with Japanese friends. Really thanks to you all for so much fun! I had a drinking everyday, I also did something else, taking night view photos in London. London offers beautiful night views! Here are some works I took.

Thanks for your hospitalities in Paris
I was blessed with chances of meeting my friends in Paris. Thanks to my friends, I really enjoyed myself in Paris and I already missed it when I had to leave. Surely, Paris is the city where I want to come back again someday!

I stayed at Bruno's house in Paris. He was riding a motorcycle in South America. I met him in Cuenca, Ecuador for the first time and Oruro, Bolivia next. It is a good memory when we were looking for a apt to rent in Oruro for the Carnival

I was also hosted by Denis, Bruno's friend. He has good senses of humor, which makes me laugh many times, and senses of fashion. He has something I do not have.... jealous, hahaha.

Impression on cities may change, depending on friends. If you have ones, i think you feel more intimate to the city due to your friend. Guild books are unnecessary, because you can go to the places your friends always go. This is the exact experience of what local people are doing. It is precious, isn't it? Now I feel that having a place where you can go out with your friends except your home country is very precious. Thanks, everybody and let's drink together in Tokyo next time!

Unique photos taken in Paris.
Here is Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre. A lot of people came here.

The best place for me was Maison Europeenne de La Photograhie. Because, there is an exhibition by Sebastian Salgado, my most favorite photographer. He was not Photographer from the beginning. He was an economist first. Is not it interesting, isn't it? His works always give you strong impressions. And I feel as if they would start talking the stories about themselves. I wish I could take photo like him, but If I could, I would be photographer then.

Eiffel Tower Views
Wherever you are, it is always nice to take photo in Paris.I feel everywhere is like the world of Henri Cartier Bresson. Montmartre is wonderful, L'Avenue des Champs-Élysées is also. But the best in Paris for me is Eiffel Tower. It is built with inorganic steal and metals but as a whole structure, it looks as an art work. Because it is so attractive that I visited there many time during my stay in Paris.
